3rd March to 4th March 2012 - StarTrek is an annual team orienteering trek across Exmoor in the dark, all for charity.
Aimed at groups of 4-6 people, the team leader must be 18 or over and the youngest member must not be under 16.
6th April to 9th April + 12th & 13 May - Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Easter Steam Gala - Take a trip back in time to the days of railway elegance. Closed in 1935 - this is the first phase in rebuilding one of the world's most famous and picturesque narrow gauge railways
9th April – Chambercombe Manor - Easter Egg hunt
4th to 6th May - Ilfracombe Beer Festival - A great atmosphere with free admission to a fantastic array of live music, entertainment, plus a wide range of real ales and cider.
6th May – ‘Jack in the Green’ May Day celebrations - This wonderful event to herald the spring is held annually. A colourful procession winds it's way through the High Street, along the sea front towards the Harbour area.
2nd June to 5th June - Ilfracombe Celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
9th June to 17th June – Ilfracombe Victorian Week – 25th Anniversary. Ilfracombe's bygone days are celebrated in this annual event. Visitors & locals alike dress up in magnificent victorian costumes and parade at an array of venues throughout the week.
15th June to 17thJune – GoldCoast Oceanfest - Every year on the Solstice Weekend in June a unique format of lifestyle sports takes place. All this alongside an arena hosting a Live Music Stage and Big Screen showcasing the musical talent of more than 25 live acts over the weekend
7th July – UK National Sandcastle Competition at Woolacombe - Now in its 15th-year, the competition is firmly established as one of the summer’s highlights
29th July – Birdman Competition - Watch wacky attempts at man-powered flight off the pier at Ilfracombe
1st August – North Devon Show at Umberleigh - This is North Devon’s premier Agricultural spectacle. The annual event is a celebration of North Devon’s agricultural roots
23rd August – Ilfracombe Carnival - This spectacular event raises monies for local charities and is a fun night for all the family
24th to 27th August – Sun West Beer Festival – Ilfracombe
27th August – Mini Car Grand Tour - The Grand Tour brings the locals out in their thousands into the streets to watch the Minis go by. It takes about 15/20 minutes for all the Mini's to clear an area, one after the other. The event takes in some fantastic countryside and has some breathtaking stopping points. The final resting place is Ilfracombe and what a sight to behold, not to be missed.
